Mr Eddie Wang, former President of Minsheng Banking Corporation, talked with Prof Yunus during his recent visit in Hong Kong on banking, global economy etc… Extract: 尤努斯:2008年美國掀起了金融海嘯後,出現了一個有趣的現象。在一邊街,幾家跨國大銀行倒閉;在另一邊街,一些銀行家則很快活,依然向大財團借貸。那些銀行為何倒閉呢?主因是它們貪婪,投機作業,信奉幻想經濟(fantasy economy),在現實中卻炒賣輸光了。我們從事小額借貸業務,每分錢都是投入實體經濟(real economy)。我給您借貸,您去買一頭牛。您把牛養育成長,就是照顧了我的貸款,還貸給我,壞賬少於1%,而不是把資金用作炒賣而烟銷雲散。我認為現代金融業已死,有關機制不可行;我們有無數窮人需要養牛,但又不容易借到錢。這便是當前世界金融的癥結。 王浵世:現在中國的銀行仍在追求高端的大筆財團貸款,而不是看看基層人們的需要。上周我在上海向內地銀行界人士作了一場演講,令您傷感的是,在場發問:「王先生,您能否告訴我怎樣可以投入高端的客戶,讓我們可借出更多的錢」。這明顯是忽略了基層市場。如果叫他們捲起衣袖到山區,看看基層市場的需要,他們就說Thank you, Sir ! Not me。教授,您曾到中國提出改良窮人經濟是很好的建議,但中國政府似乎仍未有時間來面對這些層面的問題。您提倡的借貸模式須要強烈的熱情去執行,才能在中國開花結果。如果業界沒有激情,只能空談了。 尤努斯:不同層面的人民都有融資需要,政府要關愛人民。尤其是中國,作為社會主義國家,經濟不能只依賴富人,應是依賴全體不同階層的人民作為支柱,去發展整個經濟。中國需要不斷檢視和更新金融體制,而不是只是利用「資本主義體制」去建立「社會主義國家」。 Full interview at SCMP
