Jimmy Ong, an undiagnosed dyslexic and school drop-out, who defied all odds to become a managing director and then his own boss, only to be declared bankrupt and buried in debt at 30. Jimmy was fiercely independent and worked hard but life dealt him many difficult hands. With the financial strains came the marital strains. Then, his son was diagnosed with final-stage brain cancer; all while Jimmy tried to pay off his huge debt. At one point, he contemplated his own suicide. But 22 years on, he’s now firmly on his feet and shares his stories with people going through their own difficulties. Today, Jimmy is an Inspiration Speaker, the Author of “Breakthrough”, a Resilience Trainer and Life Coach, who has inspired hundreds of thousands of people from various age groups in Singapore and around Asia.

Jimmy was selected as one of the Everyday Singaporean Heroes in their SG50 celebration campaign in 2015. His face was commemorated on special Jetstar livery. “Jimmy has weathered many storms in his lifetime from losing his son to cancer to facing divorce and bankruptcy. Yet he lets nothing hold him back from making the most of his life. Today, he owns a motivational and coaching business, inspiring next generation to live their own lives to the fullest.”
